The Drowned

Inspired by one of Lee’s older poems, the beginning is a sea shanty, representing a life of moving things on the river.  It quickly dissolves into chaos as a body falls into the river and a struggle to survive begins. The descent ensues. In the end the mind slips into a dreams-cape just before death. The re-occurring heartbeat, finally stops.

“That greedy old river swallows them down, them down, down
Down in her belly many travel all drown, drown, drown”
